At least 20 people have died in a double suicide attack at a market near Mora in the Far North region, local media and residents are reporting.
The death toll was expected to rise from the blasts at the Meme Market in Mora subdivision early today. L’Oiel du Sahel reported that the public was still sorting through rubble for bodies.
Attacks continued in the region yesterday, said a correspondent, making February the most deadly month since the start of the year. There have been more than 60 attacks across the region since January.
“We cannot report everything, there are just so many attacks and incidents each day,” said a local correspondent, who confirmed the blast took place about 13 kilometers from Mora.
Mora sub-division falls within one of the high risk zones and most of the sub-division is off limits to civilians, except those with a special permission from the governor and a war escort.
